Tucked away in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, a friend's private historic estate - replete with a hidden garden door & secret garden vibes - offered J & J the opportunity to host family & friends for their vineyard-inspired wedding safely outside this spring. Perfectly perched next to walls of wisteria, the estate's tennis court was completely transformed into a lovely tented celebration, making the difficult decision to pivot their venue from DC to Virginia (just five weeks from their wedding date!), feel like fate. Channeling their love of weekend sojourns in Napa, our vineyard-inspired wedding day commenced a heart-felt ceremony against a bucolic garden backdrop. Under the eaves of a vine-covered arbor adorned with string lights, guests sipped champagne and specialty cocktails as they strolled and enjoyed the picturesque setting. Echoing the warmth of a Napa afternoon, our design paired natural wood elements - farm tables, vineyard chairs and pillar candle holders - with simply elegant linens. Beautiful hand-thrown pottery and copper vessels filled with fresh rosemary, assorted herbs and soft-hued romantic floral compotes, topped our tablescape. Glowing lanterns, picnic and flower baskets, and an iron gate escort card display were reminiscent of al fresco dining adventures and the couple's favorite San Francisco restaurants and lent a romantic glow to this festive evening.
