A SAILCLOTH TENT WEDDING

Picture an intimate sailcloth wedding with gorgeous floral design, six flower girls, and bespoke details at Goodstone Inn, and you'll immediately see that a stunning Fall micro-celebration can be simply beautiful on a macro scale. Here, R & P celebrated their beautiful Goodstone Inn wedding day with their closest family and friends – and when you have hearts as kind as theirs, it comes as no surprise that much of their guest list was in their bridal party!
Located in historic hunt country, Goodstone Inn provided a bucolic backdrop for their small wedding of fewer than 50 people in Middleburg, Virginia. With most guests staying on the property, we curated a welcome bag full of the bride and her family’s favorite Texas-style treats. Our Bride grew up with fond memories of her mother’s blue and white ginger jar collection and we knew that was an element that we wanted to incorporate within the design. As a couple, R + P have a strong affinity for a more mid-century modern, contrasting style; so, we married both into the design: incorporating blue and white ginger jars with white, matte black and lattice urns, softened by a light and airy palette.
Surrounded by blooms and the peaceful intonations of a solo cellist, the couple said their “I do’s” in front of a romantic ivy-and-rose-covered wall, live-streamed for family and friends not present. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed libations and scrumptious hors d’oeuvres by the pool.
Nestled in the Woodsy Garden, a sailcloth tent wedding reception (a nod to the couple's love of sailing) inspired guests to dine and dance the night away. A vintage typewriter and postal porter table served double duty – inviting guests to leave the couple a note, while acknowledging our bride’s vocation as a speech writer. After dinner, champagne toasts and their favorite donuts, R + P thanked guests at the end of the night with their own ginger jar keepsake, tied with a classic black silk ribbon.
